Fertco’s ethos of eco friendly fertiliser revolves around the idea that farm fertiliser inputs need not damage our environment or farm economic sustainability.

Fertco specialises in Dicalcic phosphate. Proven to have ecological advantages over other phosphate sources; Dicalcic suffers far less from problems such as phosphate run off and leaching. Because Dicalcic phosphate is not an acid fertiliser it is far kinder on soil biology, this means the soil life which is important to nutrient cycling and plant health is not damaged after fertiliser application. Clover, the farms natural source of Nitrogen, also performs better at higher pH levels.

Because Fertco products contain lime and maintain a high pH there is less requirement for Nitrogen fertiliser to maintain production. Soils with good pH levels have deeper rooted pastures that are able to utilize soil nitrogen to greater soil depths. They will also require less moisture to grow well. We often see better drought tolerance and faster recovery post rain under a Dicalcic Fertiliser program.
